- 25 June, 3.00, unveiling of plaque to Irene Ighodaro, born in Sierra Leone, studied and worked in Newcastle, and contributed massively to Nigeria and West Africa during her lifetime. Jesmond View, Eskdale Terrace, Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne NE2 4DY. This is the first plaque in Newcastle for a black woman, and all are welcome.
