Library and Collections

The Society's library hold around thirty thousand volumes, mainly relating to its areas of interest covering all periods of the history of the north east of England. We also hold a comprehensive collection of maps.

We also hold significant collections of coins and archaeological items, and take an interest in local music through our bagpipe collection. The Society maintains a separate archives website, where the results of our archival research projects can be found.
